MANCHESTER UNITED 1 – 4 LIVERPOOL
That, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call “a double”, and it’s oh so very, very sweet. In fact, it’s so sweet that the only words I can think of to express it are:
When you walk through a storm hold your head up high,
And don’t be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho’ your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart,
And you’ll never walk alone,
You’ll never walk alone!
Someone more coherent than me can write about what actually happened in the game, I’m sure; my team just kicked the crap out of the best team in the world in their stadium (including another humiliating last second lob from Dossena); I will say, though, that the stalwart United defense really let them down in all the spots where they can’t afford to be let down (Vidic, van der Saar, and Evra were all particularly pitiful). I’m going to let match analysis wait for now, though, and let the result speak for itself.
guys. i think this post deserves its own thread, however i don’t know how to email the admins.

Keano, it was already covered here earlier this week. Adam took the guy apart FJM-style. It was brilliant.

How about Sir Alex Ferguson’s comments? He says that Man Utd was the better team. Uh, scoreboard, dude!
“It’s a hard one to take as I thought we were the better team. We have to accept that it was a bad day in terms of the goals we lost, but I cannot fault the display. We made some important mistakes and one or two of the players were a little short of what we expect of them. With that said, I would have taken a four-point lead at this stage of the season.”
Well, that was embarrassing.
Embarrassingly awesome.
