What you missed while police were breaking up your water fight…
- It turns out that Martin Jol wants to manage Fulham after all.
- Is David Beckham being groomed to take over as the England manager in 2012?
- Fun Liverpool transfer news (since they’re the only ones actually making moves at the moment): Joe Cole’s signing is complete while Philipp Degen wants out. Also, Rangers defender Danny Wilson – last year’s SFA Player of the Year – has agreed to a £5 million move to Anfield.
- Former Reds manager Gerard Houllier believes that it was his work with Liverpool that led to Rafa Benitez winning the Champions League in 2005.
- Wigan defender Titus Bramble has moved to Sunderland for £1 million.
- Napoli have signed Uruguay international Edinson Cavani from Palermo.
- Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko doesn’t know anything about reports claiming he’s about to be loaned to Sporting CP.
- What do Rangers fans and David James have in common? They both want James to make a summer switch to Celtic.
- Ghana international Anthony Annan is hopeful that his World Cup campaign will mean a transfer from Rosenborg in Norway to the Premier League.
- Stevan Jovetic has snubbed interest from Barcelona in order to ensure that he plays regularly in the first team with Fiorentina; he also possibly enjoys being paid regularly.
- Sounders midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, whose contract is up in November, may explore a return to Europe.
My McBride #20 Fulham jersey (UKSoccerShop says it’s 07-08, but according to Historical Football Kits it’s actually 06-07) came in the mail yesterday, so I can only take this as a good sign that Sven is coming nowhere near Craven Cottage.
Fuse, I think my previous comment re:Fulham got marked as spam for the two links I included.

I can’t see Becks as a manager. I know it’ll happen, but I just don’t see anything good coming from it. Maybe he proves me wrong…
Speaking of nothing good: James to Celtic? Please no. The current keeper scares me and the defense isn’t too gorgeous at present (hoping they gel or get it together before the UEFA CL), but I don’t think we need him. If he does come in, I hope he shows FA cup form the season long. Given the shape Rangers are in at present, the turbulence never ending at Hearts, and seemingly no money in the rest of the league…I have no idea what this SPL season is going to look like.
At the end of the year I want to see how Titus Bramble’s transfer fee/salary to own goal ratio breaks down.
Also, David Beckham shouldn’t be allowed to be the swing shift manager at a Denny’s, never mind in charge of a national team.
I’d welcome Becks as manager of Mexico.
